Health Ingredients Europe 2016: Tereos introduces its healthy ingredients

Overview of this indispensable gathering of health and nutrition food specialists. The HIE Trade Show was held in Frankfurt from November 29 through December 1, 2016. 

The event welcomed over 450 exhibitors who came to showcase their solutions to over 9,000 agri-food professionals from all over the world. It offered Tereos a chance to present its range of products, as well as its application support, focused on light and enriched nutritional products.

A growing sector

According to HIE organizers, the global market for healthy and nutritional food and drinks is expected to break 800 billion dollars by 2019. Based on this fundamental trend, every two years this trade show becomes a special meeting place for various industry players, an opportunity to talk with customers and establish new contacts.

A stand reflecting the Innovation of Tereos

The Group’s stand was designed to be both fun and interactive. This veritable showcase of innovation presented a broad overview of the representative prototypes from Tereos’ range of vegetable-protein, fiber-enriched and sugar-lowering products. Taste tests were conducted live at the tasting space: a health-drink bar, protein and fiber-rich snacks, guilt-free treats.

A unique position on the market

Visitors were especially interested in the wide variety of new formulations offered in the range of sweeteners combining sugar, glucose syrup, polyols, soluble fibers and stevia extracts. Such a broad portfolio and a profound expertise of product formulations combine to give Tereos a unique position in the market. Interest in beverages, especially innovative drinks in the “mid-calorie” trend, i.e. those between zero calorie and traditional soft drinks, is particularly high.

The anticipation of the consumers needs and the industry expectations knowledge allow the Group to develop new food formulations and to accompany these customers in their new developments. Reducing the amount of sugar in foods, increasing fiber content, developing products rich in vegetable proteins…these are just some of the solutions developed in Tereos's R&D centers and presented at HIE to help build the foods of tomorrow.
