Tereos consistently rated gold and silver by the SAI approach
100% of Tereos cooperative associates, once again evaluated sustainable
As a member of the SAI (Sustainable Agriculture Initiative) platform since 2015, Tereos has set itself the objective of extracting maximum value from its agricultural raw materials. As testament to the development of good agricultural practices, Tereos successfully renewed its audit for the SAI Platform’s Farm Sustainability Assessment this year. This internationally-recognised assessment addresses the three sustainable development themes: environmental protection, economic and social management.
The self-assessments were carried out at the farms of Tereos’ cooperative associates, who represent the group’s supply region. A random sample was then audited by an independent body in order to certify the implementation of good agricultural practices within their operations.
Tereos’ cooperative associates reinforce their position as sustainable producers
All of the cooperative associates’ agricultural production (sugar beet, potato starch and alfalfa), that is collected directly by Tereos is therefore subject to this approach.
The SAI approach makes it possible to meet the expectations of customers and consumers concerned about responsible agricultural production methods. These promising results strengthen the trust between agri-food sector players and consumers.
