TSSE Spain subsidiary receives public funding for its sustainable R&D

In partnership with the Aula Dei Foundation, TSSE Iberia launches VATAMA, a research plan to fight against corn pests and related diseases on non-GMO varieties.

Tereos Starch & Sweeteners Spain, based in Zaragoza (province of Aragón) specializing in starch processes for the pharmacy, renewable energy, and food sectors, structured in partnership with the Foundation of the Science & Technology Park Aula Dei.

Through the VATAMA project, the research consortium led by Tereos Iberia intends to evaluate and test new non-chemical approaches to fight against diseases affecting non-GMO corn plants amid pest attacks. The budget allocated by the Province within the framework of the Call for collaboration of the State Program for Research, Development and Innovation on societal issues represents an amount of € 574,410.8. This public allocation reinforces the budget for the period 2018 – 2021 of this research program also supported by the National Plan for Research and Scientific and Technical Innovation in Spain.

VATAMA bears the public endowment reference N ° RTC-2017-6699-2.

This program joins other research plans from Tereos Iberia that have already received public funding:
